Producing Po’ Ramblin’ Boys' Latest Album – Wanderers Like Me

Woody Platt is proud to have produced Wanderers Like Me, the newest release from GRAMMY-nominated traditional bluegrass group The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys — a record that marks a pivotal evolution in the band’s sound.

For the first time, the band worked with a producer from the earliest demos through to the final mixes. Woody brought a steady presence to the studio, helping shape arrangements and vocal dynamics while preserving the band's authentic, road-worn identity.

In a recent interview with The Bluegrass Situation, members of the band spoke about what it was like working with Woody in this deeper, more hands-on role.

“Whatever you do is gonna sound like you,” said C.J. Lewandowski. “With the current album coming out, it’s the first time we’ve had a really heavily involved producer… because of Woody, we did try a lot of things that I don’t think we would have individually gone for. And after we all did them, we usually liked them.”Guitarist Josh Rinkel added, “It was just really refreshing to work with a producer and have that level of focus and excitement. Having that external voice that studied and focused is huge.”
“The main thing is, I want you guys to be you,” Woody told them during early sessions. That focus on authenticity helped the band push themselves into new territory while staying grounded in the sound they’ve become known for.

With standout tracks like “Ramblin’ Kind” and “Long Gone Still,” the album has already earned a #1 single and continues to receive praise for its high energy, emotional edge, and strong sense of identity.

“The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys are one of the most important groups in traditional bluegrass today,” says Platt. “My goal was to give them the space and support to do what they do best—and push just enough to uncover something new.”

Wanderers Like Me is available now on all streaming platforms.
